Methodology of natural medicines database
Indications for natural medicines can be of two types: evidence-based use if the documentation relies on sufficiently large randomized controlled clinical trials and traditional use in case the benefit relies on a well-established base, but the clinical evidence of efficacy is incomplete or missing altogether. Traditional indications of natural medicines are often extensive, and only those traditional indications supported by pre-clinical research evidence are included in the database.
